Olive Gill-Hille: Savour

Current exhibition
  • Works

Savour is an exciting new body of work by Olive Gill-Hille that follows the artists selection as a finalist in the National Gallery of Victoria’s prestigious Rigg Design Prize 2025 and subsequent major acquisition of Memento by The Gallery.

Continuing themes at the centre of Memento, Gill-Hille returns to explore the idea that we are natural gatherers, drawn to objects and collecting memories through physical tokens.

The works in Savour each preserve a moment, a thought, a fragment of time – shaped by the artist, they will soon be carried forward into new homes and new lives.

The timbers walnut, ash, jarrah and sheoak, were themselves gathered over time. Some were sourced and some were collected by hand from the bush, salvaged from other lives

Savour is Olive Gill-Hille's third solo exhibition with the gallery.
