FLOWERS AND FROLICS

Flowers and Frolics is a series of tableaux photographs by Jacky Redgate that stage playful, hallucinatory scenes using Mylar mirror—a reflective polyester film that warps and distorts reflections. Carefully composed still life flower arrangements featuring common household blooms such as gerberas, roses, poppies, irises, and sunflowers are paired with kitschy vases, ceramic figurines, and vegetables. These objects are arranged on gleaming, patterned fabrics and lace doilies across tabletops, resulting in surreal displays that hover between domestic charm and optical illusion.
