Launching in 2024, the UniSQ Biennial Art Award is an exciting new addition to Australia’s art world. The award aims to celebrate and champion contemporary Australian art and with a generous prize pool of $40 000, it is set to attract talented artists from all corners of the country.

Emerging Artist award ($5000 acquisitive) (Emerging Artist is defined by the Australian Council for the Arts as those in the first five years of professional practice)

There will be two rounds of judging. In the first round of pre-selection, the judges will select finalist works for exhibition from the images provided, and those finalists will be invited to exhibit their work in the UniSQ Art Gallery.
Finalist works will be judged by a panel of judges, chaired by the University Vice-Chancellor, comprised of the Curator (Arts and Exhibitions), one representative from UniSQ's School of Creative Arts, and one suitably qualified independent guest judge. Judging criteria is based on three equally evaluated criteria of technical skill, originality, and conceptual strength.
