Sally Smart's Ensemble (scuola d'arte/MARNI) puppet is dressed in garments made from the fabric of her 2017 collaboration with the Italian fashion house Marni. Contemporary art has frequently been a source of inspiration for the Marni design team who in recent years have worked with visual artists including US artist Richard Prince, British artist Gary Hume. Marni's approach follows a rich collaborative history between artists and fashion designers, from Salvador Dalí with Elsa Schiaparelli; Yves Saint Laurent and Piet Mondrian; to the contemporary: Björk with Alexander McQueen.
